Dr. Cooper, a native Texan, attended Rice University for undergraduate studies prior to receiving his medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine. He then returned to Houston to perform his internship and residency training in pediatrics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He took additional training as a fellow in pediatric infectious diseases at UT Houston, before completing a two year fellowship at Texas Children's Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine in Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Cooper is Board Certified in Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Cooper is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. He is also a member of the Greater Houston Allergy Society and a Charter Member of the Texas Allergy Society.
