Dr. Ingvoldstad is a graduate of Iowa State University and received his medical degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Following his internship at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D., he completed his residency at the University of Iowa’s Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, where he served as chief resident.
An Air Force veteran, Dr. Ingvoldstad began his medical career at Malcolm Grow Hospital, Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, D.C., then went into private practice in Sioux Falls. While there, he served as Chief of OB/GYN at both McKennan Hospital and Sioux Valley Hospital.
Since joining Peachtree Women's Specialists in 1993, Dr. Ingvoldstad has served as Chief of Service, Gynecology, at Piedmont Hospital and currently serves on the Board of Atlanta Women’s Healthcare Specialists. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a member of the Georgia Obstetrics and Gynecology Society, the Medical Association of Georgia and the Medical Association of Atlanta. In addition, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor of OB/GYN at Emory University.
Active in his community, Dr. Ingvoldstad serves on the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities, the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, All Saints School and First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. He has an avid interest in global health issues and frequently travels to Haiti to work in the OB/GYN clinic on behalf of ChildSpring International.

Dr. James is great and everyone in the office was so extremely nice and professional! Coming from NYC I wasn't so used to the staff being as nice as the doctor. So happy I found a great doctor in ATL I highly recommend him and have been telling my friends to check him out since I left.
