About Dr. James Mcgowan
Trust is perhaps the most important component in health care. The physician relies on the patient to be honest and truthful in reporting their symptoms and concerns. The physician must be trusted that his opinions and recommendations are those that he believes are the best available. Dr. McGowan’s medical training was at Westminster Hospital Medical School, a part of the University of London. The next five years were spent in different hospital based Internal Medicine subspecialty training posts. On return to the United States, Internal Medicine Board Certification was obtained in Denver. Since then he has been in solo, and group practice, of general internal medicine and geriatrics.
Dr. McGowan enjoys family, including grand children, and golf in his spare time.

Happy I finally found a PCP that made me feel welcome n not judged. He knew about my specialist I see and has lots of respect regarding not stepping in on what he already had planned for me. I would highly recommend this clinic if Dr Mcgowen is not your cup of tea I’m positive a different provider in this clinic will be. From check in to MA , provider, lab tech they were all professional.

I would not return here or recommend Dr. McGowan. Even though I mentioned a cough, I felt the doctor spent too much time looking at my chest and body in a way that made me uncomfortable. It's not like he has x-ray vision and can see my lungs through my breasts, so why stare? Additionally, the medical advice he gave me was outdated and didn't listen to my concerns because I didn't fit the "standard case" which was a decision based on decades-old research. I felt he was just calling it in and honestly a little lazy. I will not be returning.

This was one the best doctor's visits that I have ever had. Dr Mcgowan was terrific. He introduced himself to me and right away realized I was in pain. He immediately began to ask me questions and diagnose my condition. He communicated to me during my exam and quickly determined we needed to do a blood test and a scan to determine why I was in pain. I trust Dr Mcgowan's and will make him my primary care physician from now on.
