Dr. James Norbury was born in Massachusetts and raised in Seattle, Washington. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Washington State University and his Doctor of Medicine from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Norbury completed his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and Parkland Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Norbury served in the U.S. Army as both a medical student and physician. He was a Battalion Surgeon during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia and Iraq where he was awarded a Bronze Star. Before returning to the Dallas area, Dr. Norbury practiced Ophthalmology in Georgia and Arkansas.
