About Dr. Anita (Jacob) George
Dr. Anita Jacob grew up in Lewisville, TX. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and a Minor in Health Care Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry. She then continued on to do a post-graduate residency in Ocular Disease and Primary eye care at the Veterans Health System of the Ozarks in Fayetteville, Arkansas. During which time she trained in anterior segment laser certification, specialty contact lens fittings, and was a clinical preceptor at the Northeastern State University College of Optometry. When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Jacob enjoys spending time with soon-to-be husband and friends and she enjoys hiking, volleyball, and dancing.
Dr. Jacob is a Therapeutic Optometrist. She earned postgraduate certification as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She is certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease by the International Association of the Board of Examiners in Optometry. She is also certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. Dr. Jacob completed her Clinical Externships at Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry, Community Eye Clinic in Ft. Worth, TX and the University of Houston College of Optometry, Casa De Amigos Health Center. She is a member of the Dallas County Optometric Society, Texas Optometry Association and American Optometric Association.
Dr. Jacob is extensively trained in the preoperative and postoperative management of cataract and refractive surgery patients including LASIK, PRK and all the Refractive Implants like Symfony, Crystalens, and Tecnis. I scheduled an initial appointment, then received 3 different emails trying to confirm the appointment at 3 different times and at 2 different locations. I called the office to settle the issue and waited on hold for 30 minutes before hanging up and just rescheduling the appointment online for a week later. When I arrived at the Frisco office a week later and filled out paperwork and got into the exam room, they told me they couldn't do contact lens prescriptions (the reason I booked the appointment) and told me I needed to go to the Plano location to do that. Overall not a great experience, they seem extremely disorganized.
