James Rand is a personable and detail-oriented gastroenterologist in Bayside, NY. He graduated from Albert Einstein College at Yeshiva University as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed a residency at Colombia Presbyterian Medical Center and a second residency at Strong Memorial Hospital. Dr. Rand underwent additional training through a fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center. He is Board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.
Dr. Rand specializes in colonoscopy, endoscopy, and endoscopic surgery. He is affiliated with New York Hospital of Queens and has been practicing for over 36 years. He routinely performs colonoscopy, polypectomy, upper endoscopy, dilation of strictures, and biopsies. Surgeries are performed at the state of the art Queens Endoscopy Ambulatory Surgery Center in Fresh Meadows. Dr. Rand’s private practice is patient-oriented. He takes time to personally sit with and learn about each patient rather than relying on assistants and nurses. Dr. Rand is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Weill Cornell College of Medicine.

I initially booked an earlier appoint through ZocDoc. I received a call from the office that afternoon stating they did not have availability for the time slot I booked Online and subsequently rescheduled me for th following week. I called the office to confirm my appointment for the day. I was told I could come "early" as they were "running early" I arrived close to my appointment time and still had to wait over 30 mins to be seen. I felt like the visit lasted longer than necessary as the doctor would leave the room and literally see other patients and then return. Not sure that I'd return.
