Dr. Lachtchinina earned her Medical degree at Altai State Medical University in Barnaul, Russian Federation in 1998.
She completed her residency at Providence Hospital in Washington DC in 2006, affiliated with The George Washington University.
Upon completion, she chose to continue patient care at Washington Adventist Hospital for next 5 years, providing patients with treatment of acute medical problems.
Having seen and managed multiple complex cases, she realized that her focus needs to be shifted to primary care, where prevention of disease and collaboration with patient are the main goal of treatment. She solidly believes that doctor should work together with the patient in order to achieve healthy state for the patients.
Dr. Lachtchinina started practicing as a Primary Care physician in the Rockville area since 2011.
She has been counseling patients on maintenance of a healthy weigh, exercise regimens, smoking cessation, management of high blood pressure, improvement of cholesterol levels, control of blood sugar and taking medications correctly with the goal of preventing top leading medical conditions, including heart disease, stroke, diabetes, chronic lung disease, infections like pneumonia and flu, kidney disease, thyroid problems.
In a view of the growing epidemic of overweight and weight-related medical conditions, Dr. Lachtchinina has received training and became a Diplomate of The American Board of Obesity Medicine in 2015. For past 2 years, she has been focusing on weight management for her patients as well as treatment of weight related medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, fatigue, arthritis, sleep apnea and many more.
