Dr. Ryan took the time to thoroughly examine me and gave me a very detailed run down of what could be causing my problem. He even drew a chart! He followed up the next day and I'm already feeling better with the antibiotics he prescribed. Great doc!

Dr. Ryan spent the first part of his childhood in Manhattan, NY before moving to Southern California as a teenager. He completed his undergraduate studies at University of Southern California, receiving a Bachelors of Science in Biology and subsequently earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine. From there he completed his internship and residency in family medicine at Long Beach Memorial Family Medicine and served as Chief Resident of the program in 2006/2007. Dr. Ryan is a current member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
As a family medicine physician, Dr. Ryan cares for children, adults, and seniors. He prides himself on his interpersonal skills and his ability to listen and communicate with patients and he enjoys working with diverse ethnic and multicultural populations. Dr. Ryan loves giving lectures to the community and has a passion for health, diet and fitness. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Ryan has a passion for the outdoors and recreational activities (including tennis, skiing/snowboarding and adventure traveling).

My experience with Dr. Ryan was excellent! I was able to get a same day apt when my asthma got out of control.
The office staff was friendly and I didn't have to wait long at all, even being a new patient.
Most general docs in the past have tried to throw me an inhaler and send me out the door. Dr. Ryan asked me lots of questions about my symptoms, what I'd tried, and my history. He gave me a breathing treatment and then suggested several treatment options to see what I would feel comfortable with.
Never did I feel rushed, talked down to, or like I wasn't being heard, which has been my experience with many doctors. He's very friendly and has a good bedside manner.

I had a great visit with Dr. Ryan at Urgent 9. I was feeling horrible on Sunday morning and set an appointment on ZocDoc for the same day. I was seen within 15 minutes of walking in the door. I had my vitals taken, and Dr. Ryan was in soon after. I told him what was going on, and he took the time to actually assess me thoroughly. He faxed my prescription to my pharmacy, and some tips to relieve the pain I was experiencing. Wishing all my experiences seeing the doctor were this pleasant, considering the circumstances of being sick and all.

Went in for plantar wart treatment. Dr. Ryan was very friendly and explained exactly what he was doing the whole time. Gave me a complete treatment regimine rather than just freezing them off which most often does not work with plantar warts. Very attentive and seemed to genuinely care.
