For Dr. Ly, the decision to become a physician came first through service to his community and finding what he was passionate about. “When it came time for me to decide where I was heading with my life, I decided to explore the medical field by volunteering at the local ER. While the environment of the ER was very chaotic, my experience was nothing short of amazing. It was extremely rewarding to be able to help care for others when they are at the most vulnerable moment. I knew then that I want to take more of a role in helping others. Medicine then felt like a natural path for me to take.”
He was attracted to Coordinated Health because it is a multidisciplinary clinic. “I spent a lot of time after my residency in single-specialty private practice groups. The environment was very isolating and the business of medicine interfered with my ability to take care of my patients. There is an environment of cooperation at Coordinated Health. The services that I need for me to take care of my patients are in the same group and there is an open line of communication with physicians of other specialties. At Coordinated Health, I feel that I can get back to doing what I love to do: taking care of patients.”
