Hilton Head Regional Physician Network welcomes cardiologist Jay M. Kalan, MD. After graduating from the Medical College of Virginia in 1983, Dr. Kalan trained at the Washington Hospital Center, the National Institutes of Health, Boston University Medical Center, and then the University of Virginia Medical Center. He started Cardiology practice in Northern Virginia, and was on staff at INOVA Fairfax Hospital and Virginia Hospital Center for 9 years. He moved with his wife Cindy and their 4 children to Hilton Head Island in 2000, and has been in practice on Hilton Head and in Bluffton since.
Dr. Kalan practices at Hilton Head Hospital and Coastal Carolina Hospital. He is currently the Chairman of the Department of Medicine, and Chairman of the Physician Peer Review Committee at Hilton Head Hospital. He has expertise in all facets of Cardiology, with special interest in treatment of coronary artery disease, cardiac arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, and hypertension.
