Jeff van den Broek, D.O., joined Digestive Disease Associates in 2013. He graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. van den Broek attended the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas on a U.S. Army medical scholarship. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii and his Gastroenterology Fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Houston, Texas. His military career also took him to Fort Hood in Texas, Walter Reed, Fort Bragg in North Carolina and Fort Meade, Maryland. Dr. van den Broek was deployed twice to Baghdad, Iraq for a total of eighteen months and was awarded the Bronze Star and Combat Medical Badge before receiving his honorable discharge in 2013.
Dr. van den Broek is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Gastroenterology and has interests in inflammatory bowel disease, diseases of the liver, biliary tract and pancreas and functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is currently the Chief of Gastroenterology at Howard County General Hospital.

He took the time to discuss my symptoms and ordered very thorough tests to get to the bottom of my GI issues. I’m never against thorough testing— so far so good.

I have problems hearing back from staff who book medical procedures requested by Dr van den Broek. I’m still waiting to be setup with a procedure and it’s been more than a week since the Dr. asked them schedule it. This is my third visit and the procedure has not been booked. The Dr. is great but getting procedures done is not gonna happen. I may have to find another providers.
