About Dr. Jeffrey Taranto
Dr. Jeffrey Taranto, O.D., a native of Atlanta, Georgia, earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia before completing his Doctor of Optometry at Nova Southeastern University's College of Optometry in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
We accept all patients without vision insurance for routine eye-health evaluations, including glasses and contact lens fittings, and provide an itemized receipt for you to submit to your medical carrier for reimbursement.
While most optometrists begin practicing immediately after optometry school, Dr. Taranto chose to further his education in ocular pathology and pediatric optometry. He completed his residency in Ocular Disease and Special Testing at the State University of New York, Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. During this program, Dr. Taranto trained under numerous ophthalmologists, including retinal, corneal, cataract, LASIK, and pediatric specialists. He believes this advanced training sets him apart from many other eye care practitioners in Los Angeles. Dr. Taranto is not only focused on his patients' vision but also on the overall health of the eye. His up-to-date technology and 10 years of experience enable him to diagnose and treat nearly all eye infections.
Dr. Taranto is Board Certified in Optometry, a member of the American Optometric Association, and licensed by the state of California. After residency, he practiced in Manhattan for six years before relocating to Los Angeles to be closer to family and to fulfill his lifelong dream of opening his own optometric practice. Given his extensive experience with children, he considers himself a pediatric optometrist.

The doctor was great! This is the best prescription I have ever had. I've always thought that my glasses would be annoying since everything always looked smaller to me But once I got my new prescription I was pleased that everything looked normal and my headaches stopped! Dr. Taranto really took his time to get me the right fit. Thanks doc!

This is my second exam by Dr. Taranto, and I'm still floored by the level of excellence his practice provides. Eye exams are extremely comprehensive, and Dr. T takes the time to explain everything fully, and will even help decipher confusing insurance providers. He's the very best.

Intelligent and knowledgeable, with a great bedside manner. When the high-index lenses he recommended didn't work for me, he helped me figure out (in a couple of follow-up visits) what the problem was and what lenses I should switch back to.

Small, independent optometrist, excellent care. Actually reads insurance coverage info and can work with you and your provider for best options. Very friendly, informative, takes TIME with you to answer questions and concerns, explains tests thoroughly. I never felt rushed during my appointment. I had really bad pain in my eye, and my older sister took me to her doctor. He was able to see me immediately and cure my infection within days. He was really nice and patient with me. I would reccomend seeing him to all of my friends and family. He is awesome!

Dr. Taranto is amazing. I brought my 14 yr old sister in due to pain in her eye and Dr. Taranto described the infection as a central corneal ulcer. He was able to treat the infection and it was treated within days! So thankful he was able to see us on super short notice and treat my sister right away on top of everything. Super friendly, caring and awesome!
