More about Dr. Jenna Cheng, DO
Dr. Jenna received her B.S. degree in cognitive science/neuroscience at UC San Diego. She then ventured out east and received her medical degree at at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she stayed to complete her adult psychiatry residency. There, she found herself drawn to the way adults talked about their childhoods and families, so she went on to complete her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Harbor UCLA-Medical Center. Throughout training, she developed a profound appreciation for the psychodynamic approach rooted in attachment theory, humanistic psychology, and skills learned in dialectical behavioral therapy. Dr. Jenna is particularly interested in trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, behavioral issues, and psychotic symptoms. She is also passionate about helping immigrant families navigate the difficulties of adapting to a new environment. Dr. Jenna is certified in trauma-focused CBT, and trained in family therapy at UCLA. She is also a member of the New Center for Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles. Her dedication to trauma and family work allows her to value an individualized, culturally-sensitive approach to care.
