I have been searching for a primary care doctor since moving to DC 2 years ago. I was very pleased to finally find Dr. Ake through ZocDoc. She is very professional and took the time to really learn my medical history and make recommendations on things I can do to improve my health. The office is very clean and located just a few blocks from the Ballston Metro Station. I'm excited I can finally check finding a primary care doctor off my to do list!

Jennifer Ake, M.D. is a Board eligible Family Medicine physician. She grew up in Ocean City, Maryland before leaving for New Hampshire to attend Dartmouth College. She spent the next two years after graduation traveling and learning Spanish in Central America before returning to the U.S. to attend medical school at George Washington University.
After completing her Internship at Georgetown University’s Transitional Year at Fairfax Hospital, Jennifer was planning on moving to Texas to complete her Ophthalmology training. Prior to that she was scheduled to work for one year on the Eastern Shore of Maryland as a General Practitioner.
During this year, working in an underserved area near her hometown, Jennifer realized a newfound love of primary care and decided to redirect her studies. She joined and successfully completed Virginia Commonwealth University’s Family Medicine Residency with Fairfax Family Practice in Fairfax, VA. Her interests include aesthetic medicine and travel medicine.
She currently resides in the Northern Virginia area with her fiancé and two dogs. In her spare time Jennifer enjoys traveling, hiking, tennis and cooking.
