Jennifer Ayscue, MD, is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and an assistant professor of surgery at Georgetown University Medical Center. Dr. Ayscue is the section director at MedStar Washington Hospital Center of the MedStar Colorectal Surgery Program. She is also a chair of MedStar Washington Hospital's general surgery practice committee which helps ensure patients receive the highest quality patient care.
Dr. Ayscue provides care for a wide range of simple and complex medical conditions, including robotic surgery treatment for rectal cancer. She feels fortunate to be able to help people with life-threatening or life-altering quality-of-life issues improving her patients' lives is what she finds most rewarding. Dr. Ayscue treats patients the way she would want her family members or friends to be treated. She considers her patients as partners in treating their health issues.
Much of Dr. Ayscue's research has focused on fecal incontinence, and she has contributed to numerous journal articles and presentations. She participates in various MedStar Health and national committees, including leadership roles in the local chapter of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the Chesapeake Colorectal Society. Dr. Ayscue has been listed in the Guide to America's Top Surgeons by Consumers' Research Council of America and named among Washingtonian Magazine's Top Doctors for Colorectal Surgery.

I had to wait for a long time. The office didn't get the forms that I filled up online. Zocdoc recommended me to do it online for a faster "sign in" and it was supposed to help but at the end, I don't know what happened. It just didn't work.
The doctor was exactly what I was looking for. Gentle, respectful and very professional. I am coming back with confidence.

Since moving to DC I've been disappointed by most of my doctors. dr. Ayscue was one of the best doctors I've seen in awhile. Caring, down to earth (not fake creepy doctor nice), made me feel really comfortable despite an awkward subject, and didn't rush me. The reception and nurses were also all really nice. It was a pleasant experience overall!
