Dr. Jennifer Shenk is originally from Bradenton, FL. She found a passion for optometry when she was attending high school and immediately started working in the field of optometry. After doing her clinical rotation at a specialty Pediatric clinic followed by a binocular vision clinic she knew she had a special interest in pediatrics. It has always been her passion to open an optometry practice and is excited about Wake Family Eye Care and the quality of care they will provide. Her goal is to provide exceptional eye care and treat each patient as she would a member of her own family.
Dr. Shenk graduated from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2003. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2007 as well as a Bachelor of Vision Science degree in 2006. Her clinical rotations include Omni Eye Center in Atlanta, Georgia, a Binocular Vision and Pediatric rotation at Lake Mary Eye Care in Lake Mary, Florida and a specialty Pediatric Clinic at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Shenk is an active member of American Optometric Association and North Carolina Optometric Society.
Dr. Shenk and her husband have two children. In her free time she enjoys traveling, hiking, running and spending time with her family.

My daughter loved Dr. Shenk. She works well with children & provides a thorough examination with easy to understand explanations. She even helped my daughter pick out the perfect pair of reading glasses! I would highly recommend anyone to Dr. Shenk.

She was very professional without being a "know it all". She took time to listen. Made some recommendations without being pushy. Too many drs are so concerned with retail sales-- refreshing that they were not.
