About Dr. Jennifer Wood
Dr. Jennifer Wood has been practicing optometry for over twenty years. She has extensive experience in multiple settings and is residency and fellowship trained in low vision rehabilitation. She also holds accreditation as a certified low vision therapist (CLVT). Her commitment to both her profession and her community led her to the decision to open a private practice. Dr. Wood finds it both humbling and restorative to assist patients with their sight.
Having graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University, Dr. Wood then earned her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Houston, graduating magna cum laude. Following graduation, she completed a residency in Low Vision Rehabilitation. She was awarded a two-year position as a clinical research Fellow at the Western Blind Rehabilitation Center, a division of the Palo Alto VA Health Care System. One of the many studies in which she participated centered on investigating neural plasticity of the visual cortex and its possible implications on eccentric viewing.
Dr. Jennifer Wood enjoys working with patients of all ages and needs, with all levels of vision. She specializes in low vision rehabilitation and myopia management.
She is licensed in Texas as both a therapeutic optometrist and an optometric glaucoma specialist. In addition to being a member of the American Optometric Association, she is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and is sitting as a candidate for Diplomate.
When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking with her boys, reading, and lounging with her two dogs.

This was the second time I took one of my children for a consultation with Dr. Wood. I couldn't wish for a better doctor. Dr. Wood is professional, thorough, knowledgeable, efficient and at the same time has a way to make her patients feel comfortable and at ease. She explains all the procedures and makes sure you understand all the options available. She is extremely generous with her time. I would highly recommend her.

My daughter and I recently had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Jennifer Wood for our annual eye exams, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the experience.
From the moment I walked into the office, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere by Jade, who had arranged for my daughter and I to be seen at the same time, despite having done separate appointments.
Dr. Wood is incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to thoroughly explain every step of the exam to us. But what really stands out about her is her kind, friendly and compassionate approach. She is patient and understanding. She truly cares about her patients and it shows in the way she treats them.
In the end, Judy, the expert optician on staff, quicky helped me pick a nice looking, stylish and comfortable pair of glasses.
I highly recommend Dr. Wood and her staff to anyone in need of an optometrist. I'm glad to have found her.
