Qualifications and Experience
I am a PEDIATRIC orthopedic surgeon in New York City, that also sees ADULTS for general orthopedic problems. I focus most of our work on the treatment plan and followup to optimize results. I take care of all types of orthopedic problems in children. These include scoliosis, hip dysplasia, pediatric fractures, sports injuries, perthes, slipped capital femoral epiphysis, benign bone and muscle tumors, clubfoot, leg length differences and limb deformities, both acquired and congenital. I believe in really listening to the child who is my patient, not only in order to make the correct diagnosis, but more importantly to understand better the child's personality and what needs to be understood for the individualized treatment recommendation to be effective. When you book an appointment on zocdoc I recommend that you are as specific as you can with the reason for the visit, and give details with regard to length of time of complaint, site and laterality, and if radiographs have been done already. As an orthopedist - most of our patients needs radiographs, which can make the visit take longer than you would expect. If you have had radiographs done previously and are able to bring those images (not just the report) please let us know when you are making the appointment. If not, we will likely send you for radiographs just before the visit or after the exam, depending on complaint, but definantly prior to giving treatment recommendations. Looking forward to meeting you and being of service!

Great visit. Quick to the point. Will return
It was a great experience, her team was fast and helpful.
First of all, my appointment was reschedule to another day with less then 15 minutes to it. Second of all, I'm very frustrated because I'm new in this country, I was using my insurance for the first time, I told them that, and I asked both the receptionists and the doctor for possible extra fees and they told me that wouldn't happen. I just received a very large bill for "the use of the hospital facilities" + another one for "radiology provider" - for 2 wrist x-rays that didn't show anything wrong so the doctor didn't know for sure what a have and I still in pain.
My 12 year old son's ring fingers are missing their growth plates. She understood our issues and worked with us to go through different options. She was great and spent couple of hours with us
It was okay. The Dr. had a busy day and we felt rushed in and out.
Dr Frances was pushy and insistent on a treatment plan that I later learned is outdated and ineffective. She tried to scare me into making a bad decision for my son. I would NEVER recommend her.
It went very well she apologized wholeheartedly about the wait but all in all great visit great doctor
Dr. Frances is incredible! She anticipated all of my concerns regarding my injury, and addressed them in a very calm and clear manner. The staff at her office works very quickly and efficiently as well. I came in having never been injured before, not knowing that I needed to come with x-rays as a new patient, and they immediately directed me to the x-ray center in the building. The whole process: getting x-rays, seeing Dr. Frances (which included a full body exam), and registering as a new patient took about 2 hours. She even had to patience to explain her diagnostic process from a teaching perspective to my boyfriend (who is a med student), and to myself (a pre-med). Hopefully I won't have to seek medical attention for another injury, but if I do, I will absolutely be seeing her again!
She is great with kids, really appreciated her playing with my 2-year-old and making her comfortable. She also avoids unnecessary procedures while being very attentive.
Great manner with small ones (mine is 15 months) and full focus on their wellbeing. Comes straight to the point and explains everything very well. Open to questions and takes her time.
Dr Frances was a delight. She talked about options for treating my injury, not prescriptions. It was my first visit and I very much look forward to returning!
Dr. Frances is amazing and I would very strongly recommend her. She is great with kids of all ages! Very knowledgeable, great problem solver, will think outside the box and will work with your family to serve your child's needs best both near-term and long-term. Scheduling of an emergency appointment (same day) was accommodated. Her office staff is also very pleasant, helpful and professional.
Great doc. Very friendly and helpful.
Very nice straight forward
Great personality! Comforting and knowledgeable. A great find for sure!!!!
Dr. Frances was very nice. I was pretty paranoid about walking on my ankle after I rolled it, but she helped me realize it wasn't as bad as I feared.
She found out a fracture that emergency room couldn't. X-ray room is in the same building, so it's convenient.
This was a strange appointment. The doctor left before my xrays were complete, the office assistant poorly explained how I was to obtain xrays and a wrist brace and instructed me to call a different number at a different time. I've never had such a confusing outcome from a doctor's appointment. I didn't receive a printout with diagnosis or treatment - nothing. I wouldn't go back.
Dr Frances is both professional and emotionally intelligent; I highly recommend her.
Excellent, explained well and answered questions
Great visit with Dr. Frances! She is expert in her field and has a very good way of explaining complicated issues in practical terms, with compassion and without condescension. She was extremely patient, answered all my questions, and emphasized what I can do speed recovery and avoid issues in the future.
The office was in disarray since the admin was out and it took a little while to get the proper documents together in order for me to get some x-rays down the hall.
She was professional, easy going, and helpful. Thanks!
