I was able to get in quickly, I didn't have to wait, and Dr. Abrams was very pleasant and listened to everything I had to say. He was very attentive and is referring me to a specialist for my condition. His staff was also very friendly and I was very happy with the level of service I recieved. I would certainly recommend Dr. Jerome Abrams to other patients.

Great first visit. Dr. Abrams was very kind, attentive, and thorough. I hope to have future visits like this. One note: This office only takes cash or check. It wasn't a problem for the office and they were very accommodating. ZocDoc should implement a way to designate this.

After completing a residency in Family Medicine at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, he spent several years working as an emergency physician. He has been in private practice in Kent County since 1983 and recently began seeing patients at his Smyrna location. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Delaware Academy of Family Physicians. He strives to provide the highest level of medical care in a caring and compassionate manner and prides himself on treating each of his patients as an individual.

Although my appt was double booked due to office not receiving notification from ZocDoc until the day of, the office was very apologetic and accommodating. (So I do recommend just calling office for confirmation when booking last minute appt through ZocDoc).
That aside, I was actually very impressed with how thorough Dr Abrams was with my initial exam. I didn't feel like he was rushing, I felt like he really wanted a thorough history and knowledge of overall health. And he found an issue that Pruett doctors have all overlooked (thankfully). Considering I have neglected to keep a PCP for the past several years, there was lots to discuss. He didn't give me the bs about having to schedule a separate appointment to address those concerns like many doctors do. Overall I felt very comfortable with him and I think I'll be sending my husband his way as well.

Dr. Abrams was a much further drive than I anticipated (I'm new to the area), so I was late, but the staff was extremely kind and accommodating, and fit me in anyway, for which I am very grateful! I expected to have to wait since I arrived late, but I was seen within a few minutes. Dr. Abrams spent a good deal of time going over my medical history, and talking about what therapies have and haven't worked in the past. I received refills for a few maintenance medications, and he invited me to contact him if I had any problems so that he could address them. My hyperactive toddler was with me as well, and Dr. Abrams was so sweet and patient with him--he even drew some animals on some tongue depressors to keep my son entertained during the appointment. My child is usually very shy and wary of strangers, but LOVED Dr. Abrams. The staff was polite, efficient and helpful, the building was very clean, and of course, the doctor was awesome. Well-worth the long drive!
