The office itself is not welcoming and needs some TLC (waiting room was also very crowded), but Dr. Barest was lovely and accommodating and had a wonderful manner.

Dr. Barest is fantastic! I saw her for eye irritation after hitting my eye. She was very thorough in conducting my eye exam and was very attentive in listening to my concerns. I’m sure I’m not alone in dreading eye exams, but Dr. Barest was very patient with my constant blinking and made the exam as pain-free as possible. There were a couple of points where I had to get eye drops before the next step, or switch to a tech to perform a specific test; Dr. Barest and her team moved me through the steps as quickly as possible and never made me wait longer than was necessary. The office staff was nice and helpful. Overall, it was a very good visit and I would recommend Dr. Barest to anyone looking for an ophthalmologist.

After receiving her undergraduate degree from Haverford College, Dr. Barest earned her M.D. degree at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Dr. Barest completed an internship in internal medicine at Greenwich Hospital, followed by her ophthalmology residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary .
Dr. Barest is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and is fluent in Spanish.
