I am a clinical psychologist providing individual, family, and group therapy services. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including hospitals, a university clinic, and a community mental health center.
I understand that the process of healing and self-discovery can be challenging and, at times, painful. But I also believe that wherever a person is in this process, therapy can facilitate meaningful positive changes. My therapeutic approach draws primarily from relational psychodynamic theories and relevant clinical research.
I have also trained in cognitive-behavioral and dialectical-behavioral therapeutic approaches and I often blend the various tools to tailor the work to my clients’ needs. I place a lot of emphasis on past and present relationship patterns. This includes my own relationship with each client since I believe that a good therapeutic relationship is crucial in promoting healing and growth. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where my clients feel comfortable exploring both their vulnerabilities and their strengths.
I enjoy working with clients from all walks of life and diverse cultural backgrounds. I have a special interest in issues related to immigration/displacement, loss, and grief, as well as maternal and parental health, including pre-natal issues and adjustment to parenthood.
