Dr. Kizner is a medical graduate of Montreal's McGill University. After medical school he completed two residency programs, first in family medicine, then obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr Kizner is originally from Montreal, moving to Southern California in 1992. He practiced in Montreal for 7 years, where he was on the faculty of McGill University’s Medical School. He is currently on staff at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, St. Mary Medical Center, Los Alamitos Medical Center, Lakewood Regional Medical center, and Long Beach Community Hospital.
Dr. Kizner is known as a proponent of family oriented, natural childbirth with a minimum of medical intervention. He has received a "best practice" designation from Long Beach Memorial Hospital for having the lowest Cesarean section rate among all the obstetricians practicing there. His Cesarean section rate, since he first began practicing, has consistently been in the 10-15% range, well below the national average, which is now about 30%.
Dr. Kizner is married with three daughters and is an avid long distance runner. Since moving to California, he has run the Long Beach marathon nine times, the Palos Verdes marathon seven times, and the LA marathon three times. His personal best marathon time was in Palos Verdes, 3:29. His last race was the 2010 Long Beach Marathon.

I went in for an IUD insertion. I was told by one of the nursing/physician assistants there that the best time to come in for an insertion is right after your period ends so that's what I did. The entire thing was virtually painless except for a few mild cramps. He was very knowledgeable, guided me through the whole process, and did an amazing job! I was expecting the IUD insertion to be extremely painful but I ended up leaving the office feeling the same way I came in. It was great!

Dr. Kizner was good but I have to sing the praises of his staff. So kind, so accommodating, so personable. I can't say enough good things. I arrived at my appointment early only to realize that I left my referral paperwork from my GP at home so I drove back home and called them letting them know the situation. They sympathized and rescheduled me for an hour later, told me to take a breather, recollect myself and come back. I highly recommend Dr. Kizner to anyone in the Los Alamitos area if for no other reason than to be accommodated by the wonderful people who work there.

I love Dr. Kizner and his office staff. He was my OB/GYN when I was pregnant with my first child and unfortunately I could t see him with my second child because of insurance, but this time around I chose my plan based on the fact that he takes it. He's warm yet professional and very patient. He'll explain what he's doing and why he's doing it as many times as you need and he's the only OB I've ever known to not want to push tons of interventions throughout your pregnancy and labor. I highly recommend him and his office staff is very friendly, like able and funny.

The receptionists were very kind. I had to reschedule my appointment a few timed due to meeting conflicts. At the end, I was able to match my time and they were always nice and supportive.
