On July 14, 2015 I visited Dr. John Albritton MD, Winter Park, FL at Women's Center for Total Health because I recently found out I was 6 weeks pregnant and looking for an OB. I advised billing that I have an HRA which is on my insurance card they scanned into their system. They advised me that they do not trust patients word on HRA because some patients doctor hop, eventually eating the HRA before their claim is approved. After accusing my husband and I to our face of fraud, I asked them to call my insurance to confirm any pending claims and HRA balance. They refused and said we will charge you today and then you submit the receipt to your insurance for reimbursement. The reimbursement was denied because they billed me for a co-pay which I do not have and indicated that I was self-pay.
My husband went to the office July 20th to try and correct the matter and they said they can not do anything until August 15th when they get the payment from our insurance. Even though at this point I know they have access to my insurance information and they can see their claim will be approved and will get an over payment to be refunded back to us. After all the run around I submitted a medical release to transfer care. At this point, the office manager called to know why we were leaving and had no idea there was even an issue. When I advised her the situation she took ownership acknowledging I never should have been charged in the beginning, that she can see all my insurance information, apologising for the way it had been handled and that she would get the refund out to me.
As of today August 25th I still have not gotten my refund. After speaking again with the office manager again, she is now saying there was a billing mistake and my insurance also over paid them so now they have my initial over payment and the over payment from my insurance but I still can not get a refund check.
It is likely they have done this before and have gotten away with it. I believe if it was not for my persistence, I and my insurance would never have known we paid them too much money and they would have kept all over payments. If you do decide to continue service with them I recommend double checking all your explanation of benefits (EOB) from prior claims and make sure they do not owe you any money.

I first visited Dr. Albritton solely based on Zocdoc reviews, I even made my first appointment through Zocdoc. Right from the start, both Dr. Albritton and his office staff made me very comfortable. I quickly developed a trust in his professional opinion when I was faced with several tricky or complicated situations throughout my pregnancy. My age is his experience, and that made me feel very secure under his care. I am sorely gonna miss him as I am moving out of Orlando, but I definitely would recommend him to my friends.

Dr. Albritton was recommended to me 4 years ago by a friend and I have been a patient ever since. He is an amazing physician! He is very distinguished, knowledgeable, professional, and personable! His office staff is very friendly, professional, and they make you feel comfortable!! He is definitely deserving or every accolade displayed in his office! I love Dr Albritton. He delivered my now teenage son, performed my tubal and is now my teenage daughter's doctor as well. I sent a friend his way and she loves him as my as my family does. He's a great doctor, I'm blessed to have found him.
