Dr. John Bennett joined the Ear, Nose & Throat Center from Stanford University in 2003. Dr. Bennett treats pediatric and adult patients in all aspects of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.
In addition to general Otolaryngology, Dr. Bennett has special interests in rhinoplasty (functional, cosmetic, revision, and reconstructive), facial reconstruction after skin cancer removal, and correction of ear deformities.
He graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 1991. He served a General Surgery Internship at the University of Hawaii before completing his residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Wilford Hall Medical Center and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Bennett was a Major in the United States Air Force at Royal Air Force Lakenheath Hospital in Lakenheath, England, for six years, and served as Chief of Otolaryngology from 1999 to 2002.
He was a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Anatomy at the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine for six years, and also assisted in Endoscopic Sinus Surgery courses in England. He served as an Instructor of Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support in England, Germany, and Turkey, and he was a Space Shuttle Recovery Team physician. He earned the Army Commendation Medal for humanitarian surgical work in Honduras, as well as the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal for his work in England. He then enhanced his surgical expertise by completing a Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University, where he served as an Attending physician.
