Dr. Leighton is a graduate of the Einstein Internal Medicine Residency Program. He completed his fellowship in hematology-oncology at Temple University Hospital-Fox Chase Cancer Center and returned to Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia in 1995 to join the full-time faculty. Dr. Leighton serves as principal investigator for Gastrointestinal Malignancy clinical trials performed at the Einstein Cancer Center. He is the recipient of the 1999 Chief Residents' Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching and a 1999 Faculty Council Teaching Award.
