More about Dr. John Kagan, MD
Dr. John Kagan begin his private practice Fort Myers in December of 1980. He received his training at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Since 1981 he been the team physician for the Fort Myers Green Wave High school football team. In 1985 he became a team physician for the United States National Swimming Team and accompanied the team to international competitions.
Since 1990 he has been the local team physician for the Minnesota Twins Baseball team during Spring Training when they moved to Fort Myers Florida. Since then he has also been the team physician for the Fort Myers Miracle Baseball team. He is also the team physician for the East Coast Hockey League Everblades since the team's inception in 2001. He was the team physician for the Arena football Firecats until the league's closing.
Dr. Kagan has extensive experience in Sports Medicine and Adult Reconstructive Surgery. Training in the latest techniques such as:

Oxford Uni Compartmental Knee Resurfacing
Shoulder Humeral Head Resurfacing
He has had vast experience with arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder and is routinely performing arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, arthroscopic stabilization surgery, and arthroscopic ligament reconstruction surgery.

My problem with the fluid on my knee is still present. Unless you live local or have a lot of spare time on your hands this isn't the place to go.

I have seen Dr. Kagan on several occasions; he is always efficient, personable, and professional. On my most recent visit "they" were running an hour or so behind; however, the staff was responsive to patients' concerns and readily apprised them of wait times. Having worked in health care myself, I am conscious of timing - sometimes things run afoul of neat schedules and I am comforted knowing that my physician and his staff devote time as needed, not always as scheduled.

The office staff and physician were very pleasant and professional. The waiting area was crowded, I had a 3pm appt, was not seen by the physician's assistant until 4:40, left the facility at 5:04. While I understand that physicians get backed up, this was not respectful of my time.
