His passion is to provide patients with education on diet, nutrition, exercise, and cessation on alcohol, tobacco, and narcotic use, as well as prevention techniques for high blood pressure, diabetes, heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, high cholesterol, and various cancers—breast, lung, prostate, and more.
Dr. Trotter has conducted multiple research projects with the National Institute of Health and was selected to assist with NIH research projects in Brazil, Switzerland, and Spain as well as Cornell University and Howard University.
Dr. Trotter was also elected by Congress to the Physicians’ Council for Responsible Health Care, with duties to advise members of Congress on Health Care Reform. He is a member of several professional societies, including the American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, National Medical Association, Michigan State Medical Society, Wolverine Medical Society, and the Detroit Medical Society. Dr. Trotter was a also appointed by the American College of General Surgery as a Lifetime Distinguished Fellow.
While most of his practice is located throughout Michigan, Dr. Trotter is licensed to practice in multiple states.
