Dr. Jonathan Hwang is a skilled and diligent urologist caring for the Washington, DC community. Dr. Hwang obtained his medical degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. He then completed his residencies in general surgery and urology at Boston Medical Center. He then completed his fellowship in urologic oncology at the National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Hwang is the director of robotic surgery at Washington Hospital Center and attending urologist at Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. He has completed more than 2,000 robotic surgeries at Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Hwang is the associate editor of the Korean Journal of Urology and serves as a scientific reviewer for the Journal of Endourology, Journal of Urology, Urologic Oncology, Medical Science Monitor, and Department of Defense Prostate Cancer Research Program. He has authored numerous journal articles and book chapters for various urologic publications.

When I contacted Dr. Hwang's office to confirm this appointment, they said they do not really follow appointments on Zocdoc and promptly booked me for a next available appointment a month earlier than was shown as available on Zocdoc.

I am deciding what method of treatment to use for high risk prostate cancer. Dr. Hwang took the time with me to explain the various options, including the benefits and potential side effects of each. Although this is a stressful decision, I feel better equipped to appropriate choice for after speaking with Dr. Hwang. His positive attitude and excellent bedside manner left me feeling much more upbeat as I move forward.

The location is convenient, and the office is easy to find. The front desk and nursing staff were friendly, professional and efficient. Dr. Hwang was as always - prompt, professional, caring - and explained everything in ways that made sense.

There was a mix-up and Dr. Hwang was given someone else's records. The appointment was therefore based on my verbal account of prior test results, etc. Nevertheless, I have confidence that he is, so far, pursuing the proper course. I am disappointed, however, that his assistant has failed to return my two phone calls to her.
