Jonathan McBride, MD was born in Seattle and raised in a small town in Western Washington. He attended college at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. He worked in a cardiovascular pathology research laboratory for two years prior to entering medical school at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. He then moved back to the Northwest and completed an Internship in Family Medicine at Puyallup Valley Family Practice and two additional years of residency at Tacoma General and Mary Bridge Children's Hospital. He practiced in a rural town in Oregon for three years before moving to Seattle to pursue a leadership opportunity with Swedish Medical Group. He served as the medical director for the Magnolia Primary Care Clinic from 2011 until 2013, and was involved in the Medical Center leadership during this time as well. In 2014 he accepted a position with Primary Care Northwest in Tacoma, which has allowed him to pursue personal interests and spend more time with his family. He and his partner have two daughters. As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors, learning about nature, and dancing and singing. He is an avid cook, and has interests in nutritional healing, as well as complementary medicine. His clinical interests include musculoskeletal health, rheumatology, and diabetes management.
