Dr. Sonne grew up in Connecticut and attended Oberlin College. He attended medical school at New York Medical College where he was the president of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Sonne went on to an internship in General Surgery at St. Vincents Hospital in Manhattan and continued his surgical subspecialty training at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Subsequently, Dr. Sonne completed a Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Indianapolis. Dr. Sonne holds medical licenses in Florida, New York and Indiana. He is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, Florida Medical Association and the Collier & Lee County Medical Societies.
