Doctor Jose Cruz is a great doctor he listens to your concerns & figures out a plan he’s straight forward he’s not one to BS maybe all these bad reviews are because he’s so blunt well I think you guys need a thicker skin lol I prefer to be told the truth straight up I don’t need the doctor to dance around the issue I need him to find a fix & if I’m doing something that’s not helping the situation I rather him tell me so to me doctor Cruz is awesome

Originally from Havana, Cuba, Dr. Cruz received his medical education from the Universidad de Ciencias Medicas de la Habana. He relocated to the United States to complete his family medicine residency at the Montgomery Family Practice residency.
Dr. Cruz welcomes patients to his practice ages 13 and over, where he performs services such as pulmonary function testing, abscess incisions and drainage, and pap smears. I like the doctor he is very knowledgable and nice , but the staff is completely awful. They are so rude and talk behind your back in spanish, it is very unprofessional. I will not be returning to this doctor who I like because the horrible experience I had twith his staff. Do not recommend

Dr. Cruz is a great physician who is quire popular in (and around) Tampa, because of his popularity he has a larger patient base and at times there is bit of a wait to be seen. However, a few months ago he brought in another practitioner to see patients, since this addition I have noticed that things have been running very well.
I have been a patient of Dr. Cruz for about 3 years now, his bedside manner is exceptional, he remembers who you are, what life and medical details you spoke with him at any prior appointments, and follows up on said topics at your next appointment. Coming from someone who recently gradated with their BSN and has also worked in the medical field for over the last 10 years, I can attest that it is a rarity to be treated like a human, rather than a file with a number on it, like many doctors nowadays.
I know some people have given the office poor reviews due to the wait times they experienced, or the front office staff; everyone is entitled to their opinion, mine is that a great physician is hard enough to find so make-ups for minor issues any day of the week.

As in so many of my rel life experiences with doctors today - even though the Dr himself or herself may appear to be competent polite sincere mature wise and professional - the knowledge skills intelligence and efficiency and politeness of the office staff is VERY often anywhere from marginal to outright unacceptable.
I will withhold my firm opinion of the office staff till I have more experience with the Dr's practice.to include staff behavior. Dr Cruz HIMSELF has so far impressed me well.
Keeo in mind that my perception of my former Primary Dr was good overall - the reason that I am even considering dumping her for another GP was the totally unacceptable conduct of the office staff.and not necessarily her
Every person has his or her limit to how they are mistreated by ignorant shallow tactless staff.

I have seen Dr. Cruz on several occasions. He has always taken the time to listen to me and my concerns. He has never made me feel rushed. When there has been a problem with my health he has been conservative but compassionate with my treatment. I trust his recommendations. His staff have always been polite, informative and treat me with respect.

Dr. Cruz and the staff are great, I have always had pleasant experiences when I have been in the office. The staff has been extremely kind and accommodating to me as well as being very efficient and thorough in their interaction with patients. Dr. Cruz has a wonderful bedside manner (which seems to be lost among among most physicians today), he has always taken his time to answer and questions I have had and I have never felt as if he's in a rush. He also remembers little things I have said in passing that aren't medically related (family, work, etc.) and at my next visit he asks about these things and how they're going, makes you feel more like a friend then some physicians who just know you as a chart.
