Dr. Rivera is board certified in anesthesia and pain medicine. After graduating cum laude from Central University of the Caribbean in Puerto Rico, he received his training in anesthesia at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He furthered his training by completing a fellowship in pain medicine at the University of Texas at San Antonio and has practiced pain medicine for more than 18 years. Dr. Rivera has published more than 10 articles in pain medicine. He has performed clinical trials in innovative therapies in the field of pain medicine. He enjoys keeping up with medical research in order to provide his patients with state-of-the-art treatments. His vision is to provide advanced, evidence-based, multidisciplinary pain medicine in an effort to reduce patient suffering and improve functionality and quality of life. Dr. Rivera enjoys cycling and golf. He resides in Tampa with his wife and children. He is fluent in Spanish and is thrilled to serve the Tampa community.
