The front desk staff was courteous and professional, same with the scribe and the doctor who was very approachable, understanding and compassionate. He explained things well and from different angles, upon request. We talked like equals, he did not talk down to me or treat me with contempt like other docs tend to do.
The one thing that they need to improve is their computer system. At check-in. I wrote down preferred pharmacy. The scribe asked me later for my preferred pharmacy. He found it and put it in the computer. Then the doctor asked me again for the same thing and had hard time finding the pharmacy (big chain, easy to find). Their system needs some improvements.
Overall satisfied with the care I received. Looking fwd to future visits.

Dr. Paterno thoroughly assessed my problem and ordered test rather than basing his medical decision off of history.

Poor bedside manners. The doctor did not listen to my concerns and was very unhelpful. All the questions I asked were dismissed as not concerning. Doc was too worried to shoot me up with drugs rather than explain to me what helpful postures and things I can do to make me feel better or put me less at risk. Awful place. Total nightmare experience

My first visit with Dr. Paterno went incredibly well. My previous years of experience in seeking pain management for my chronic illness, has never been successful. However, Dr. Paterno took my concerns seriously and treated me as an equal while we worked together to come up with a treatment plan. I did not have to convince him that I was sharing my true experience with my symptoms. He believed me from the beginning. I have high hopes that we will be successful in getting my pain under control and have my first follow up appointment in a couple of weeks.
My only complaint is that he never looked at the medical history I provided prior to my appointment nor did he look at the massive stack of paperwork I filled out when I arrived at the office. This led to me wasting my appointment time explaining my complex diagnoses as well as him prescribing medications that have serious interactions with medications I was already taking.
Very pleased overall!

The doctor listened to me and made several great alternative procedures to medication. However, as I reside in BOTH California and Texas, I have a legal license for medical marijuana and use it responsibly. The attitude is “one or the other” which clearly indicates a lack of both education and progressiveness with regard to usage in this office. It’s sad and very disappointing to run into this in today’s climate change. As such I will NOT be changing my doctor. Although I’ve been with my current doctor for over ten years, I was willing to change because of the distance I travel. No longer willing.
Thank you

Dr. Paterno first reviews UR history on file then carefully listens to UR needs, symptoms, meds currently taken to assess how to recommend future treatment. He is very professional !!!

Best doctor I have seen in 25 years. He is exceptional/remarkable for caring and listening to me. And, when I asked his assistant if he was always like this (so personal with patients), she said yes, with everyone including all the staff. We need more like him.

I really appreciated the way he discussed the different options and actually listened to me. I did not feel like he was just trying to get me out the door as soon as possible. He answered all my questions. I’m happy he’s my dr.

Dr. Paterno is very understanding and when we talked about my pain management, he was quite thorough as I asked questions and discussed where the pain starts to make sure he gave me the best advice he could be.

Dr. Paterno has an excellent bedside manner. Listens to your concerns, answers questions, and gives a thorough examination. Wait times, especially in a city as large as ours, are to be expected for any specialist. I do not mind waiting for a superb physician.

long wait, then wait again to schedule a followup after gathering information on the dr who referenced Dr Paterno, think the staff would already have this information... Plus Dr Dryer medical records were not on hand for my visit, very unprofessional, better organization is needed with office staff
