Joseph Manning, O.D., earned his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Tennessee and Covenant College. Growing up, Dr. Manning was always interested in medicine. Having worn glasses himself, the idea of becoming an eye doctor naturally appealed to him. After graduation, Dr. Manning and his wife, Ellen, moved to Knoxville to establish a practice. There, he developed a friendship and eventually a partnership with Dr. Lain, which led to the founding of The Eye Group. In his free time, Dr. Manning enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and their children, Maggie and Jackson.
