Dr. Joshua Brown graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2003 with a combined board certification in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He has practiced in Santa Fe since graduation working as a hospital-based pediatrician, a hospital-based internal medicine provider and an office-based internal provider. He has been medical director of the Physicans Medical Center, the Emergency Department, and has served two terms as Chair of Internal Medicine at Christus St. Vincent. Additionally, he has been the Chief of pediatrics at CSV. He is currently the medical director of the pre-operative clinic and has been involved in the creation and expansion of the community-based IMS infrastructure.
He and his family have deep ties to the community and love living in Santa Fe. Dr. Brown loves the day-to-day practice of Internal medicine and the relationships he has developed with his patients.

Office staff is efficient and polite and respectful. They proceed in an orderly manner. Visits with Dr. Brown are always brief, but are appropriate and he addresses the issues and concerns appropriately.

Dr. Brown is a good listener and you can tell he keeps up with the latest medical research. While I wish he were more aware of alternative medicine, he is open to hearing about it. He is cautious about prescription medicine and tries to recommend things that have been around awhile and don't cause many side effects.
I was sent through the most comprehensive testing I've ever received for my annual: treadmill, imaging of my retina to check for heart problems or strokes possibilities, mri of heart, checking arteries for plaque, and lots of blood work. So, if you have to wait, it's worth it. You walk in if you are sick, no appointment needed.

I like Dr. Brown very much. He's thorough and very concerned; a patient couldn't ask for more. However, I've waited up to 1and 1/2 hours to be seen by him. At one visit I never heard my name being called to go back to the exam room, and was told the tech called me twice and I never heard it. The waiting room is always busy and chaotic and one never knows if a patient who comes in after you is seen before you because there is more than one doctor and you just sit there wondering why all these people who came in after you have seen a doctor and left and you're still there. Walk-ins are also welcome so why get an appointment? You end up sitting and waiting a long time every time you go. There has to be a better way to run the office.

Once I saw the doctor it was quick and easy. The receptionist welcomed me by name. The intake person was garbled on how to write the Rx because it is a months supply written for three different months.

Dr, Brown has been an excellent doctor and I continue to use his practice even though I now live much closer to a city with numerous practices. He makes good decisions about when it is best for the patient to consider specialists. He has been my doctor for 10+ years.

Dr. Brown seems smart and focussed and he asked good questions and responded appropriately. I felt able to talk easily to him and will have no qualms about consulting him in the future. I am glad he will be my doctor.
There was a long wait for this appointment, but I don't think it was bad planning. I think there were a couple of patients who needed intensive help. I don't ever mind waiting for that sort of thing. I want the doctor to help me that way too if I should require it.

Zoc Doc made it easy to schedule an appointment with this doctor, whose practice does not have a "live" receptionist on the phone. However, I scheduled my appointment for 7am, the doctor didn't arrive until 7:10am, and nursing support arrived even later. Maybe 7am appointments shouldn't be an option.

The ZocDoc offered an appointment time that turned out not to be available. I received a call to reschedule and come a different time. I called back to confirm but did not get a live person. I left a message that I would show at the new time. Once I got to the office, the front desk never received word that I was supposed to be that at the new time. I really like the doctor, but he practice is very poorly run and is not patient driven.
