Dr. Joy Carter joined WHS in 2016. She completed her OB-GYN
residency at the UT Medical Branch in Galveston,
Texas. Prior to that, she attended Baylor University where
she obtained her BS in Biology and then went to SMU
where she obtained an MS in Biological Science.
She was in solo practice in south Texas until moving to Arlington.
She and her husband, Brian, have three children.

I would never visit her again. The only reason why I saw her was because my doctor was out and I had an urgent issue. She didn't even see me for me than 2 minutes. No conversation, no compassion, no bedside manners, nothing! I was in pain during a biopsy and she didn't even adhere to my cries. Just never again??

Visiting with Dr. Carter is always a pleasant experience. She always takes her time to listen, ask questions, and educate us. Not once did we ever feel rushed. Her staff is just as efficient and kinda at the South Arlington location. Definitely recommend her!

I was really skeptical about meeting an OBGYN (it was my first time), but I was pleasantly surprised by how quick, professional and down to Earth Dr. Carter was! She answered all my questions and provided easy to understand explanations while outlining the options that would be best for me and my circumstances.
I was in and out quickly and felt really comfortable about the entire appointment! I'm definitely going back and would recommend Dr. Carter to anyone!

Dr. Carter is very kind and professional with great bedside manners. Only complaint I have is every time I see her I feel rushed and don't feel like I can sit there and ask the questions I want to ask. Other than that I would highly recommend her.

I should have asked when I made the appointment, what the Well Women's exam consisted of. My previous doctors did a urinalysis, blood work and the exam. They did not do the urinalysis and I had to ask about blood work and go back the next day.
