She was very good at explaining the diagnostics and the results. She answered every question I had carefully and thoughtfully. It was my first appointment with her, and I really liked her and her office.

I was able to get appointments for myself and 2 children at the same time which was great. We were in the office for 90 minutes and didnt feel rushed. Each of us had a thorough, quality exam - even my 3 year old son who was having his first vision test. Dr Michelsen explained all the proceedures and results with us and also found time to help us select new frames! She explained what was covered under my insurance and what was not so I could make an informed decision on what products and services to have. The displays are tidy and clean with a huge choice of frames to suit all styles.

this was my first visit. Dr. Michelsen was welcoming and friendly as well as professional. She's knowledgable and experienced in many areas of optometry and opthalmy. I didn't require a prescription today but will certainly make a check-up appoinment when it's time.

I asked many, many technical questions about how and why a progressive lens should be prescribed a certain way, and what effects it would have on my vision. Dr. Joy Michelsen spent a long time answering them, and gave me numerous demonstration lenses to let me experience different options. A lesser Dr. may have tried to negate my need for understanding with a "just trust me, I'm the Dr." attitude, but she handled all my challenging questions in a very helpful and friendly manner. Very impressed!
