More about Dr. Juan-Carlos Martinez, MD
Born to Colombian immigrant parents, Dr. Juan-Carlos Martinez grew up in Tampa, Florida. He majored in art history at Dartmouth College and earned his medical degree from Mayo Medical School, receiving academic awards, research grants and scholarships throughout his education.
After graduating from medical school, he went on to complete his dermatology training at Duke University and then headed to Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon, to complete his fellowship in advanced dermatologic surgery. He practiced as a Mohs surgeon at Mayo Clinic in Florida from 2008-2021, where he focused on Mohs surgery and reconstruction, training dermatology residents and presenting at numerous national and international conferences. He joined Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery in the summer of 2021 and is thrilled to bring his knowledge and experience to his new patients.
He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American College of Mohs Surgery and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, golfing, hiking, swimming and traveling.
