Jan Atigbi-Hansen, MSN, FNP-C, PhD, IMD, DHS, is a Family Nurse Practitioner who received her master’s degree from Herzing University in 2014. She began her career by providing primary care to seniors. However, she soon realized she was only maintaining her patients with medications, and the root cause of their issues was going unaddressed. When she went on to join a chiropractic organization, her eyes were open to the world of functional medicine. This realization encouraged Jan to pursue her functional medicine certification. Once she had completed that program, she realized there had been a shift in the health paradigm, and she wanted to be a part of it. This shift motivated her to complete her Ph.D. in integrative medicine.
Jan now has the knowledge to help her patients find the underlying cause of multiple health issues ranging from fatigue, depression, mental fog, sleep disorders, anxiety, etc. Her schooling has enabled her to make additional health recommendations that work in conjunction with her patient’s traditional drug treatments. Jan is passionate about helping her patients improve their lives while also improving her community. She believes “one’s health is one’s wealth.”
