I’ve now seen two providers at this practice and I had amazing experiences with both of them. Pretty much no wait time, listens to your concerns, reviews various options, provides efficient and effective care. I can’t think of a single thing they need to improve on. I’m so grateful I have switched from my old derm to this practice. I had no idea derm care could be this good! Highly recommend

Julia Kocemba, PA-C, is a licensed and board-certified Physician Assistant since 2018, currently working under a licensed practitioner's supervision (license number 036133262) at the Illinois Dermatology Institute. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and earned her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from Rush University Medical College in Chicago, Illinois.
Julia began her Physician Assistant career as a surgery PA, specializing in plastic surgery and breast oncology. While working full-time in surgery, she also administered cosmetic injectables part-time at a medspa in Chicago. Since leaving her surgery position in 2021, Julia has pursued her passion for Dermatology, enjoying the care of general dermatology, cosmetic clients, and surgical patients.
Outside of work, Julia's hobbies include taking Peloton classes, learning to golf, interior design, watching Real Housewives, and taking long walks with friends along the lake shore path.

She correctly diagnosed and treated my skin condition, which is obviously the main point of healthcare. So on that front, no complaints. But I felt like she rushed the meeting. I was a new patient and she spent probably 5-7 minutes in the room with me. She thoroughly answered all my questions, which was great. But it was important information that if I didn't bring up, she would not have told me. Overall, she's a fully competent provider who definitely knows what she's doing, and I would send my family to her; just keep in mind that she's a good match for someone who knows how to self-advocate and ask for exactly what they need from her.

I went in for my first dermatology appt in 15+ yrs and she was fantastic. Explained everything very well and even was able to make time to do a mole removal while I was there that wasn’t originally scheduled. Saved me an extra trip :)

I work in the healthcare field and I know firsthand how difficult and demanding the job can be. Similarly as a patient, I can sniff out when a provider is on autopilot. Julie was on autopilot during our entire visit. No eye contact. She came in w/ this aura of wanting to be done w/ the visit. It was as if she’d already done the visit in her head w/out physically assessing me. I was a new patient and she literally spent no more than 6min in the room. Her MA was very kind and essentially took the HPI for her- all she did was come in and regurgitate with the MA said w/out asking me any real questions pertinent to my visit. Even when I told her that I worked in healthcare she choose to not explain how or why she’d come to that conclusion. 1/10-DO NOT GO TO HER IF YOU WORK IN MEDICINE OR IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO HEAR YOU OUT.

Excellent choice. The Dr I chose was not available so they automatically booked me with another Dr in the same office. I showed up an hour early and was out of the office 40 minutes before my appointment even started bcs they were happy to get me in early.
