In my approach to therapy, I help patients understand the underlying thought processes and motivations that are informing their current state in order to start the process of change. I provide authentic, genuine feedback in a direct and supportive way to guide patients to both accept themselves and change in order to move forward in their interpersonal lives.
My therapeutic techniques are informed by the needs of my clients and draws from psychodynamic models as well as cognitive behavioral therapy and integrates dialectical behavioral therapy. My professional experiences include working with diverse populations with a variety of issues. My areas of clinical focus and interest include working with young adults who struggle with body image, relationship and identity issues.
I received my doctoral degree from The New School for Social Research and have years of training in hospital settings such as St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital and North Shore Long Island Jewish Medical Center. I also have experience working in university counseling settings such as New York University and Fordham University.
