I visited Dr. Ohara for an endoscopy and physical checkup. He gave me a very thorough yet easy to understand explanation of the process and the costs. The follow up was also very good.

Jun-Ichi Ohara is a thorough and hard-working gastroenterologist located in Irvine, CA. He was trained at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, clinical gastroenterolgy and hepatology fellowship program in Denver Colorado. He was also a research associate professor of medicine at Department of Medicine, Gastroenterology division, University of Colorado School of Medicine before starting the clinical GI fellowship training.This was the second GI training for him as he was trained in gastroenterology in Osaka, Japan.
Jun-Ichi Ohara received his medical degree (M.D.) from Okayama University School of Medicine and Ph.D. degree in medical science from Osaka University School of Mediciine in Japan and is ABIM Board-certified in gastroenterology and hepatology.
Dr. Ohara became interested in bridging the gap between clinical medicine and basic medical research during his school years. This led him to have advanced research activities at National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. He has extensive publications of cytokine research in many prominent journals such as Nature, Proceeding of National Academy of Sciences (PRONAS USA), J.of Experimental Medicine, J. of Immunology, Immunogenetics and so on. In clinical medicine, he provides comprehensive care for illnesses, disease screening, and various treatments in gastroeneterology and hepatology. He is affiliated with Hoag Memorial Hospital Newport Beach/Irvineand Odyssey ASC Endoscopy Center. Dr. Ohara comes from a family of many physicians and surgeons. He is fluent in both English and Japanese.
