Dr. Justin Needham is a board certified Ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract & refractive surgery, including LASIK, PRK, Implantable Collamer Lenses, Refractive Lens Exchange and Cataract Surgery. He also has experience with all types of advanced technology intraocular lenses & glaucoma laser treatments and Micro Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS).
Originally a native of Colorado, Dr. Needham has a degree in Biology from Whitman College. His studies included a year abroad in New Zealand and he has been travelling the globe ever since. After college, he was selected to attend our nation’s military medical school, Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD, earning his medical degree and graduating near the top of his class. Dr. Needham then completed his internship at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. While in Germany, Dr. Needham was selected ahead of his peers to attend ophthalmology residency at the most sought after Army program, Madigan Army Medical Center, Ft. Lewis, WA. At Madigan, he trained under some of the most experienced cataract and refractive surgeons in the military.
Following residency training, Dr. Needham was immediately selected for a teaching position at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. In addition to providing comprehensive cataract and refractive surgery in the clinic, he also delivered lectures & taught cataract surgery to the ophthalmology residents.
His military service continued when he was promoted to Major & assigned as the Chief of Ophthalmology & of the Warfighter Refractive Eye Surgery Program at Fort Stewart, GA. Dr. Needham has performed thousands of cataract and refractive surgery procedures on soldiers.
