Did not have to wait long, felt more intimate w/o the "bed" (exam table) in the room and with the nurse by my side.
He seems like he cares and wants to find out whats causing my pain.

Since the girls at the front desk are lazy and don't want to do their jobs my records have not been there so I wasted a second drive out of my town to their town and the doctor told me what the heck are you doing here. The front desk girls can't even look up a phone number for a doctor. When I gave the girl back might request for records with my information so then she said well what am I supposed to do with this there's no phone number or fax number on it. I said maybe you can look it up. She said nope I can't do anything with this is ara phone number or a fax number lazy lazy girls

Dr. Monis is an excellent physician! He has a great bedside manner and he does not rush through the appointment. His staff was very nice as well. I had booked my appointment online but for some reason it did not go through to the office schedulers, so when I arrived they quickly got all of my paperwork together and fit me into their schedule.

I loved the dr! He explained my prob in detail and for the first time in yrs I feel like I got answers to my questions!! I'm super excited to start the treatment!! Thank you so much!

Doctor never conducted physical exam, didn't even touch me. Only prescribed narcotic and strong meds. Didn't bother to figure out where pain is coming from. No MRI no CT scan, nothing!
I highly recommend Dr. Kanishka Monis, MD ( Pain Management)! 5 Stars ( ?????????? )! Dr. Kanishka Monis is a fantastic doctor! Caring & considerate, he actually listens to my concerns/issues. The office staff are friendly & helpful ( 'Appointment Reminder' calls the day before your scheduled appointment ).

Dr was kind and quick. Long wait time but worth it for right treatment. However Yet to even begin toward treatment because the Front office cant perform a simple pre authorization for an MRI. No one returns calls. Going on two weeks now...Sent me out 3 times for MRI only to be cancelled at the MRI doorstep because the preauth wasnt done. Management promised last friday they would take care of the problem and a week later still no further along and no mgmt follow up. Very disappointing. Not sure where to turn at this point
Dr. Joni's seemed like a nice and good dr. Couldnt say much from one visit. His office was otherwise poor manage. Parking space not enough, meaning too many people were in the building. His office manager needed to look into it. Waiting area was crammed. Waiting chairs arrangements made me feel uncomfortable. Arriving signup point was hidden. Receptionists manner was not worm and not really helpful so as operator when called in. Physicians asst. might book too many patients at the same time, hence patients waited back to back. Dr asst. forgot to produce all paper work to hand over before leaved.
I like Dr Monis personally, and have no reason to believe he is anything other than an excellent physician, but my experience with his office has been terrible. As a new patient, I was initially impressed with the time Dr. Monis spent with me answering my questions about my care and medication. However, I booked three appointments well in advance to have epidurals performed and two of them were subsequently cancelled by his office. Also, I was told I needed to have someone drive me home following the procedures--which are only done at the Stone Oak location--and this means I could only have these procedures done on Saturdays, which was offered to me at my first visit. I work Saturdays, so I had to request vacation time off for those appointments as well as enlist my only family member to drive me on HER day off, early in the morning, to the Stone Oak location, which is extremely inconvenient for both of us. Following my first appointment for this procedure, the office called and left a message for me saying they had cancelled my next appointment and "rescheduled" it for me--on the same date as the following appointment, two hours later! Obviously this is an issue of competency, and, also oviously, this did not work for me. Therefore I had to reschedule for another date. Two days ago I again received a message from the office staff member saying that Dr. Monis will no longer be performing these procedures on Saturdays, and my next appointment had been rescheduled again--this time for a Monday. As I work on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and had already requested half-days off for the Saturday appointments, this is extremely inconvenient for me, and does not endear me to my employer. I'd also like to say that the one experience I had when I received the epidural was...disturbing. I waited a LONG time on that Saturday morning; although *I* was there 1/2 hour prior to my appointment, as requested. Dr. Monis had told me I would need to fast prior to the procedure, as he would be using propofanol, a fast-acting general anasthetic for the procedure. I was *not* told I had a choice about this; I was informed of that while I was waiting to be seen for the procedure. Since the general anasthetic was not "necessary," there was no need for me to have a driver at all, so my family member was unnecessarily made to wake up at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, and lose time on *her* day off, to drive me. And although I had arrived early, I was not "seen" until one hour later. When I finally was taken in, I was seated in a strange room which was piled with boxes, and which was furnished with only a card table and two folding chairs in it. This is where I was instructed to change. There was no indication this was an examining room of any kind; it was more like a storage room. When I asked about the room the nurse didn't explain anything, just laughed and gave no comment. A very flustered person wearing a lead apron came in and introduced himself to me so quickly that I still have no idea who he was or what, exactly, his qualifications are (was he a nurse? A nurse-anesthetist? An anesthesiologist? No idea; it's a mystery...). I was not asked if I would like anything to relax me, though I was feeling anxious about the procedure, but while I was waiting in the storage room with the door open I over heard another patient say that she had been given valium--why was she asked if she was anxious while no one ever asked me how I was feeling? I was eventually taken to the procedure room, which did not have any boxes piled up, told to lie face down on the table, and when Dr. Monis came in I was told, "Here's Dr. Monis!" and that was all. I did not look at him, (impossible to do from my position), so I have only the word of this unknown person that this was, in fact, Dr. Monis, as he did not speak to me at all beyond asking me "On which side is your pain?" My pain is always in the same place: on my left, in my arm and neck, as I have repeatedly stated both on my paperwork and in person during the one appointment I have had with Dr. Monis. This experience, and that of having multiple appointments cancelled, has not inspired faith in me. I have an upcoming appointment with Dr. Monis on July 17th, and I will inform him at that time it will be my last. I have never had such a frustrating and demoralizing experience with a physician's office before in my life.

He was very good, kind. I was pretty... surprised, @ the drug test first thing, to say the least! I like how he treated me otherwise, tho, and most of his staff was fabulous, kind, warm. I will definitely be going back because I am that impressed, not something I say easily, despite the whole being treated like a drug addict before he ever met me...
Dr. Monis is a good Doctor, very understanding. he takes the time needed with his patients never rushing you through your appointment.
Dr. Monis is a wonderful Doctor who cares about his patients and their pain level. He spends a good amount of time with his patients.
He was kindhearted, understanding, and allowed me to express on all my concerns even the ones that may have been off topic; but still listened as not miss any useful information. My fiancé was worried, so was I about how long I had been without help for my condition, and the fact that we did not know what was wrong he was considerate enough to notice and ask if we would like to come to the follow up sooner so we could find out the MRI results and plan of action. It was great and we are both grateful for Dr. Monis, his staff and ZOCDOC 6 years of unknown soon to be solved and treated just by clicking this app. And by seeing a wonderful Doctor San Antonio is lucky to have him here.
