Finding an eye doctor away from home is tough. Dr. Karen Truong and her staff were more than welcoming. They were very informative and helpful. Theresa was also great at helping me find the right frames for me! I’ll definitely be going back.

After graduating from University of Oregon, Dr. Karen Truong went to pursue a career in optometry at Pacific University. She was motivated to be an optometrist because her mother has poor eyesight and she realized how important vision is in your everyday life. She tailors her eye exams to be specific to each individual because she understands that no two eyes are the same and listens to all your individual needs.
Dr. Karen Truong is a Portland native and loves being active her community. When she is not examining eyes, she enjoys traveling, hiking, cheering for the Blazers, and finding the next restaurant to try. She is multilingual in English, Cantonese Chinese, and limited Spanish.

Dr. Truong was amazing completely understood what my concerns were and listened to me. I’ve had glasses since I was 9 and had never had a complete comprehensive eye exam and I would recommend her and eye health NW to anyone.

This was my first time seeing Karen Troung and she was super friendly. Usually when I go to my optometrist the doctors are so cold and I never wanna ask questions, I just want out of there but Karen was great . I'll be making all my appointments with her.

I was very pleased with the care I received here. I did more tests than I think I have ever done at any other optometrist, like some that tested how my eye muscles were working with bright red lines.
Everyone was very polite and helpful, knowing all the answers to any of the questions I drilled them with. They seem really on top of their technology in both diagnosing any problems and giving you really good vision. I didn't even know that there were 'anti-fatigue' lenses that would help someone like me. I have eyes that constantly get strained while I try to read or drive, even with proper glasses.
The location was really convenient, too, on a pretty street right off right off of the freeway. It was an easy couple turns back onto it, again. I will be visiting a location closer to my home, as I drove a little while to get there. I am looking forward to going back to pick up my new glasses!

Dr Truong herself was great! Very good at explaining what she was doing/seeing and that always makes for a comfortable visit.
My only very large Con and the reason I won’t be going back to EHNW is the hidden “contact fitting fee” it is not outlined online, when you book OR when you first check into your appointment (when you think they would see you are here for contacts and glasses and tell you what your fees are, very shady)
I’ve been wearing contacts for 10 years now... and my work/school schedule does not allow for an extra 3 contact fitting visits, the contact lady was rude about it too when I expressed my confusion about why. I have never had to deal with this at any other place I’ve gotten my eyes done at.. I just want to purchase my 4 boxes of contacts, a set of glasses and be done for the year.
