Dr. Kathryn Ireland Miller was a consummate professional. She was courteous, understanding (I don’t like anything or anyone in or around my eyes), very knowledgeable and able to communicate her findings to me in language that I understood. Her front staff were friendly, helpful and humorous. Her clinical assistants were thorough, professional, kind and understanding of my fear of the eye doctor and effective at navigating my trepidation with patience. Special thanks to Lily and John. They were terrific.
The only 2 recommendations I can make to the practice are:
1. Speed up the entire appointment process. I was there at 7:45 for an 8;00am appointment and I didn’t finish until just before 10:00am. As an early appointment, which I prefer, that needs improvement.
2. The bathroom was not presentable. It appeared as if it wasn’t cleaned from the previous day, messy w/toilet tissue on the floor and the trash basket full. This was an early morning appointment, thus my comment in this regard.

DR. Ireland was very professional and her expertise was greatly appreciated.
My wait time was over an hour be I was placed in an exam room.
My temperature was taken only taken when I asked and that was 30 minutes after arriving.
The new patients entering the office were placing their used pens back in the clean container and the chairs were not wiped down when the previous patient left.

Both the Dr and her assistant were very professional and thorough.
My questions were answered and hopefully the threatment prescribed will resolve my problem.
My issue is with the entire process of making an appointment through Zocdoc. I made the appointment at a very early hour for 2PM today. I was advised that I would receive a confirmation as soon as the appointment was confirmed. At 10 AM when I hadn’t heard anything, I called the Drs office, was told I would be getting a confirmation. At 12 Noon, nothing. The office was out to lunch until 1, at which time I began calling again. I finally got through, the appointment was confirmed while I was on the phone with the office at 1:14. Really, for a 2PM appointment good thing I didn’t live far away. At least I got it confirmed.
Then, to add to the issue, I arrived at 1:50, filled out paperwork and was never even seen until 2:50. No way to run an office. They knew they were behind at 1:14 while I was on the phone. Not a word. Seems like my time has no value...it does!
Why this office gives out imprinted mugs, pens, etc...very nice. But, invest your money in being efficient. Seems like a waste to utilize Zocdoc, only not to confirm an appointment. I could have saved myself the time of making 2 follow up calls and just called the office to make an appointment.

This was my first visit to see Dr. Ireland for a routine examination for a new prescription to get glass. She has a great personality, a kind smile to go along with a good sense of humor, but also presents a very professional demeanor towards the reason(s) for being there and, a definite plus that she's very easy on the eyes. She almost makes me wish that I had a reason for seeing her weekly. But rest assured, if my peepers happens to need further attention while I'm down here volunteering, Dr. Ireland will be the one I go to.

The staff and doctor seemed competent during my morning visit, but the doctor did not provide me with any written information about my exam results, diagnosis or the medication she was prescribing. She declined to give me a hard copy of the prescription and promised to "electronically transmit" it to my pharmacy in the afternoon. Despite several reminder calls to the doctor's office, both before and after hours, and repeated assurances that the prescription would be sent soon, the prescription was not sent until just before 8 pm, when my local pharmacy closed. Given that I was in increasing pain, this was much more stressful than it should have been. I would not use this practice again.

The office staff was great! Yvonne took my history, administered a field test and drops. She was kind and professional. The resident did a thorough exam and explained my condition. And then all was overseen by Dr. Ireland. Both physicians were attentive, thorough, and took time to explain and monitor my eye problem. Extremely satisfied with everyone I dealt with in the office.
