Dr. Kathy Yu-Syken provides comprehensive services for Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) at her practice, OCEANN ENT in Huntington Beach, California. She is a designated Sinus Specialist, a current and active member of the American Rhinologic Society, and is highly trained to treat those suffering from intractable Sinus Disease. Patients count on her personalized and compassionate care whether they have a sinus infection, ongoing allergies, ear infection, hearing loss, throat disorders, or any other ENT problem.
Dr. Yu-Syken is one of the few surgeons Certified in performing Minimally Invasive Sinus Procedures such as Balloon Sinuplasty and Nasal Polyp Removal as an outpatient In-Office Procedure that eliminates the need for general anesthesia, which may increase the risk of Sinus Surgery in some patients, and has access to the most modern cutting-edge technology available for her procedures.
She graduated from the prestigious UCR/UCLA seven-year Biomedical Sciences Program, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She completed her bi-campus residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the renowned Columbia University Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York.
She is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and has earned the highest distinction in the field of surgery by becoming a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons straight after training. In addition to having many articles published in national medical journals, Dr. Yu-Syken has also had the honor of presenting her work at several national Otolaryngology meetings.
Dr. Yu-Syken is an active member of many professional associations, including the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. She also currently serves as the Vice-Chairperson of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
