More about Katie (Mary) Farnsworth, CNM
Katie grew up in Central New York and received her bachelors degree from Hamilton College. Katie's original intention was to study law until a semester abroad in Holland when she became fascinated by Midwifery. In Holland most babies are born to the hands of midwives and the Dutch have exemplary maternal-child health outcomes. While considering a career in midwifery, Katie worked for an Educational Consulting start up company in San Francisco and Portland. After finally attending her first birth, Katie knew she had to become a midwife. Katie received both her Nursing and Masters in Nurse-Midwifery from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland. She loves supporting women to live healthy happy lives. She believes deeply women should feel comfortable and respected throughout pregnancy, birth, and gynecological exams. She also feels a good laugh here and there makes it all a little easier. Katie especially enjoys adolescent care and helping women find a birth control they love. In her free time Katie escapes to the mountains and enjoys time with her friends, dog, and family.
