Dr. Kulkarni is simply the best! He is so kind, patient and goes to the root of the problem, he sincerely cares about my health, and is comforting to my worries or concerns. He really cares about your well being and explains everything, he explains each condition and follows up to check on you. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Columbia University with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and completed a residency in ophthalmology at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., followed by sub-specialty training in Neuro-Ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida, which is consistently ranked the #1 eye institute in the nation. He worked in private practice at a top medical group in California and was featured on local television on Episode #14 of The Sharp Experience.
Dr. Kulkarni has studied meditation for over 18 years and strives to bring mindfulness and compassion into his work as a physician.
Because neuro-ophthalmology is a rare and complex subspecialty, most insurance plans do not cover the time and expertise needed to provide the highest level of care for these conditions. If your insurance plan is not listed here, you can still see Dr. Kulkarni for a one-time fee of $499. This covers all in office testing or treatment as well as 1 additional follow-up visit. Dr. K was extremely pleasant and friendly, and actually seemed concerned in learning about me as a person. He listened carefully to all of my symptoms, conducted a test of my eyes, and reassured my concerns. Don't be discouraged when you walk in and the main office looks a little run-down; Dr. K is great and definitely seemed to know what he was talking about.

I felt that he had a calming effect when treating me for my condition, at a time when I was full of anxiety. He called me personally to check on me and this is very special for a medical professional these days.

Dr. Kulkarni was a Godsend to me. I had struggled with eye issues for years without success from prior eye doctors. I have glaucoma and chronic dry eye disease. The main problem was the dry eye. I know there is sometimes not much one can do especially, when like me, lasik surgery was performed about 15 years ago, so really, I was just looking for answers. Dr. Kulkarni spent much time with me evaluating and listening to me concerning my dry eye. After, prescribing a new medication and some at home treatments like hot packs my dry eye has finally been controlled to the point where I can once again enjoy normal activities. I am extremely happy that I found Dr. Kulkarni!

I have had Dr. Kulkarni as my neuro ophthalmologist for over five years. He is highly skilled, experienced, and knowledgeable, but also explains everything to the patient in a manner that is easily understood. He has a great bedside manner, and is easy to talk with. I highly recommend Dr. Kulkarni.

Dr. Kukarni is a great doctor. My wife had some medical condition. Dr. Kulkurni diagnosed immediatly and sent her for proper treatment. It was a very timely treatment. Dr. Kulkarni very patient and spent enough time for patients. He is highly knowledgable. We are very thankful to him.

Dr. Kulkarni treated me for a time period of over 2 years. Due to my affliction, it required that I see an ophthalmologist every 3 months throughout the year for special injections around my eyes (I had 8 separate office visits with Dr. Kulkarni during that 2 year time period). He is a highly skilled doctor with a calming, personable, and professional bedside manner. His skill and expertise in knowing precisely how much medication and where to give me the injections was a contributing factor in the success of my treatment!!

Dr. Kulkarni is the kindest doctor, who takes the time to listen to you. Since I am dealing with vision issues because of multiple sclerosis (MS), Dr. Kulkarni is most thorough in the examination and explains the issue in easy to understand terms.
