Dr. Cavanaugh is extremely knowledgeable and caring. He took a long time with me and discussed all my concerns, culminating in a plan to take care of my issues. He is also very careful about following protocols regarding Covid-19, which I appreciated greatly. His manner was strictly professional, and he shared information and statistics regarding some of my medication he was concerned about. I would highly recommend Dr. Cavanaugh.

After graduating from University of Notre Dame in 1991, I continued my education at Loyola-Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Then, I completed a five year residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Loyola-Chicago in 2000. Then, from 2000-2001 I completed a one year American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship through the University of Texas-Houston.
Since I grew up in Boulder County, I wanted to come back to Colorado. Since establishing my own practice in 2001, I have enjoyed working with patients of all ages with all kinds of ENT issues. What I enjoy most is the ability to practice medicine the way I would like to be treated as a patient. Furthermore, I try to manage patients medically before offering surgery. I have seen several patients who were told elsewhere that they needed surgery, and I was able to manage them medically.

Gave me some good tips but overall would do well to listen more. He seemed more interested in telling me everything he knew and making sure I knew of his accomplishments than listening to my answers to his questions.

This doctor disparaged other doctors treating my son. We only wanted a consultation and the doctor ended up performing an impromptu procedure based on less than 5 minutes of acquiring historical information.

Dr. Cavanaugh is great. I went to him for a tonsillectomy, and everything went very smoothly and everyone in the office both at his office and the hospital where he did my procedure were really friendly and competent. I always felt like my questions were answered. Another thing I really liked is that he didn’t push painkillers on me for recovery, instead he gave me the option but said only take it if you absolutely need it. Most doctors prescribe a ton and tell you to take the whole bottle, which I personally feel is somewhat unethical given how addictive they can be. My surgery had absolutely no issues and a week later I am feeling basically 100 percent better, which I haven’t felt in several years due to constant strep!

It was my first visit with Dr. Cavanaugh. He was quite friendly and made me feel comfortable. He asked a lot of questions and addressed each one. I felt he was very thorough and concerned about getting to the bottom of each of my complaints. He made suggestions for things to try to maybe help solve my problem, and gave me choices as to my treatment. He will see me again in a month to see if there has been an improvement.
